Tax Structure Work Group for the Washington State Department of Revenue

ECONorthwest is providing economic analysis and project management in support of the Tax Structure Work Group (TSWG), which was authorized by the Legislature to provide a public discussion of the state tax code and areas for improvement. The TSWG is comprised of bipartisan Washington State legislators, and representatives from the Governor’s Office, the Department of Revenue, the Washington State Association of Counties, and the Association of Washington Cities. ECONorthwest has facilitated the TSWG’s identification of the principles of an ideal tax system, developed options for improving the tax system, and modeled the impacts of potential reform scenarios.
