Shivangi Jain

Shivangi joined ECOnorthwest in 2020 and is a Project Manager specializing in environmental economics, benefit-cost analysis, natural resource economics, and quantitative policy analysis. She works with public agencies to evaluate the economic, social, and environmental implications of natural resource management, water infrastructure, ecosystem restoration, and climate resilience projects. Her goal is to help clients make complex policy decisions using clear, evidence-based analysis.
At ECOnorthwest, Shivangi has contributed to a wide range of projects across the western United States, including environmental impact statements, flood risk and resilience studies, ecosystem service valuation, water resource planning, and economic analyses of restoration investments. She has supported habitat conservation plans, evaluated flood management strategies, analyzed the economic impacts of land management alternatives, and helped develop funding and implementation strategies for environmental and infrastructure projects. Her work frequently combines economic modeling, spatial analysis, and data visualization to communicate technical findings to policymakers, community members, and other decision-makers.
Before joining ECOnorthwest, Shivangi conducted research on clean energy adoption in Myanmar, farmland access for minority and sustainable farmers in the United States, and protected area policy in India. She holds graduate degrees in public policy and ecosystem science and conservation and enjoys applying interdisciplinary approaches to environmental challenges. Originally from India, Shivangi is particularly interested in how economic analysis can help balance environmental stewardship, community well-being, and long-term resilience.
