For the San Mateo County Transportation Authority (SMCTA), ECONorthwest provided traffic and revenue forecasts associated with innovations in a 16 mile, heavily used Hwy 101 corridor in the south SF Bay Area. The work used the most recent version of the Toll Optimization Model suite, and provided information for planning and financial evaluation purposes. Travel demand forecast volumes of corridor were used as inputs to the Toll Optimization Model, and resulted in vehicle flows on the general purpose lanes and managed lanes that were then used to seed a traffic simulation model of the corridor’s performance given the geometric details of the corridor operations.
