As part of Onboard, a comprehensive mobility plan for Southern Nevada, the Regional Transportation Plan of Southern Nevada (RTC) asked ECONorthwest to analyze how regional transit and land use scenarios could reshape the region.
The project team used MapCraft Labs to model the real estate feasibility of all 800,000 parcels in the region under different transit investment options, land use regulations, regional growth scenarios, and market conditions. This analysis allowed RTC to better understand how different scenarios of transit investments and zoning changes could affect the distribution of households and jobs.
The MapCraft outputs are helping RTC make informed decisions about how future transit investments can best serve the region’s residents. RTC expects to release the final plan in early 2020.
