Mike Wilkerson’s research on housing supply and demand was cited by The Wall Street Journal in a recent article about Facebook’s commitment to provide $1 billion toward affordable housing (“Facebook Commits $1 Billion Toward Affordable Housing in Silicon Valley”). As stated in the article, “California is short 3.4 million housing units, according to a study by consulting firm ECONorthwest and Up for Growth, an advocacy group for loosening building regulations. The figure is based on population and job growth trends from 2000 to 2015.”
