Polina is a Project Manager specializing in natural resource economics, benefit-cost analysis, and adaptation. At ECOnorthwest, she works on environmental projects with an emphasis on benefits valuation and ecosystem services. Her work spans quantitative and qualitative analysis, alongside community and stakeholder engagement.
Polina’s graduate research examined how policy mechanisms in residential buyout programs shape homeowners’ emotional responses and decisions. Her thesis received the 2023 Outstanding Thesis Award from the Northeastern Agricultural and Resource Economics Association, and she has contributed to multiple peer-reviewed publications. Prior to joining ECOnorthwest, Polina was an economist supporting NOAA’s Office for Coastal Management. Within this role, she generated authoritative data on coastal and marine economies, and provided trainings and technical assistance to partners. Across her work, Polina strives to translate complex economic concepts to help communities make informed, resilient decisions.
