King County Metro Equitable TOD Strategy

King County (Seattle, Washington)

ECONorthwest worked with King County to develop an inter-departmental equitable transit-oriented development (TOD) strategy, advising on governance structures, policies, and other tactics to implement the strategy. The work included a review of equitable development principles across the county’s departments and partner agencies and organizations to define ETOD. An integral aspect of the effort included using MapCraft Labs to analyze which transit station areas met various criteria for equitable TOD. The spatial analysis tool was used by county staff and ECONorthwest to iteratively calibrate a framework that reflected core ETOD principles and can geographically guide County investments in support of ETOD.
