The Oregonian comments on ECOnorthwest’s recently published research for the Oregon Business & Industry and the Oregon Business Council. This research looks into the condition of the manufacturing sector in Oregon. ECOnorthwest was able to find that workers are earning higher wages in manufacturing jobs and these jobs increase Oregon’s gross domestic product more than other jobs in the area. ECOnorthwest’s research shows “median manufacturing earnings at every education level are equal to—or even higher than—median earnings at the next education level in other industries”.
