Steve Duin for The Oregonian/OregonLive points to ECOnorthwest’s Regional Housing Needs Analysis, released 18 months ago, describing “not only the current housing calamity but the impending one”. To address historical housing shortages, the report estimates 583,600 new “dwelling units” are needed by 2040 and the state will need public funding for at least 171,000 of these housing units.
