ECONorthwest’s Kevin E. Cahill co-authored an article with researchers from Stockholm University that was recently published in Work, Aging and Retirement. The study is titled, “Does Bridge Employment Mitigate or Exacerbate Inequalities Later in Life?” and uses individual-level data from the nationally-representative Health and Retirement Study. In the paper, Dr. Cahill and his co-authors examine the retirement patterns and wealth holdings of thousands of older Americans and conclude that bridge employment is not a driver of inequalities later in life.
