John’s talk was based on the findings of a recent ECONorthwest report emphasizing the impact of global trade on the state’s job market and Oregon’s role in the Pacific Rim. The report highlights that one in five Oregon jobs is connected to international trade, and that in 2017 the state exported $28 billion in goods and services. The report was written by ECONorthwest and led by the Portland Business Alliance, Pacific Northwest International Trade Association, and the Value of Jobs coalition.
