Big Moves: How Large Redevelopment Projects are Shaping the Future of Portland’s Central CityHere they are!
There has been much local and national discussion about the state and future of Portland’s Central City. This mobile workshop will be a combination of streetcar and walking tour of three innovative large-scale redevelopment projects in Portland’s Central City; Lower Albina and the Albina Vision Community Investment Plan, the OMSI District, and Broadway Corridor.
The session will provide an overview of the planning and entitlement process of large site master plans in the Central City, how these redevelopment areas complement each other to support broad recovery across the Central City, and how these redevelopment projects support the current and future needs of Portlanders. Speakers will discuss how these projects are advancing through creative partnerships and funding models, how they are approaching innovative solutions to tackle housing issues, and how they are advancing goals for socially and economically vibrant and connected communities in Portland.
